Low Impact Development Solutions

Low Impact Development

Low Impact Development, as defined by the Low Impact Development Center, “is a comprehensive land planning and engineering design approach with a goal of maintaining and enhancing the pre-development hydro-logic regime of urban and developing watersheds.”

The EPA states Low Impact Development is an “approach to land development (or re-development) that works with nature to manage stormwater as close to its source as possible.”

LID employs principles such as:

  • preserving and recreating natural landscape features
