Project Highlight: Flex MSE Vegetated Wall for a Landslide Repair Project - Problem: Travis Riehl assisted on this emergency repair project to correct some landslide issues that occurred due to forest fires in the past couple of years. The front part of the wall is visible from a nearby highway, so a priority of the project was that the wall needed to be turned green. The city didn’t want the repairs to be noticeable and detract from the scenic surroundings. Solution: Flex MSE was selected as it could be vegetated and blended into nature after the project’s completion. The Flex MSE wall system was used for every part of the wall that was visible from the road. An Ultrablock wall was used on the uphill side of the wall as an impact zone for any future landslides to divert the flow into basins...Keep Reading
